I am getting ready to send my '88 convertible out to be painted so I am gathering parts, I disassembled the top and interior a looooong time ago but luckily I think I have found everything I need so far and identified most other parts, most. This is where the embarrassing part comes in, I have 8 of these plastic blocks with threaded holes that look very familiar but I can't place what they are for so I'm hoping that someone can identify them so I can quit loosing sleep over it lol. They are about 1/2x3/4" with about an 1/8" hole.

I hadn’t thought about that, I was thinking it possibly slid into a channel and then something screwed to it. I’ve went through everything I can think of and can’t find anything that it seems like it would work with though. The inside of the holes appear to be threaded or at least have had a sheet metal screw ran through them.

Sorry for the delay in responding, got stupid busy for the last couple of weeks. No, well technically yes there is a single digit number molded into them but they have several different ones so I assume it's a line code or some other useless to us identifier. The car is at the paint shop now so I haven't had a chance to look but I am starting to wonder if maybe they slide into the top frame.
