I hate to complain, but things are not going well.

I took my repurchased Mustang to have the emissions and safety inspection done.

Good news is that it passed emissions with L/Ts and a headswap, and all that.

Bad news, I am going to be getting bent over for $1400.

Rack and pinion, rear pinion seal, tie-rod ends, rear tires, brakes, rotors, alignment, power steering flush, brake system flush, and the rest of someone's freaking mortgage.

I want to pull my hair out. I guess it is good that this is being done, it gives me a little piece of mind about the condition of the car.

I still need to replace the A/C hose (which I am doing by myself) and then have them recharge the system.

Thanks.

Ouch! Sounds like it has to be done. Hopefully you got a real good enought deal when you bought it back so you might feel like you didn't over pay. Was the rack leaking?

Maybe thats why the previous owner sold it back to you? I know some people know there is stuff wrong with cars and sell them and never tell the new owner! Whenever I sell a car I make sure the new owner knows the inside and out of what the car might need etc etc. I hate when people bend people over backwards, heck, even dealers do that!

On a side note, a local guy has a 99 motor with 80k for $300. I want to get it and just hang on to it. I wish I had a place to let it sit.

How good? Worth buying a cherry picker and engine stand good deal? I could pick stuff off and sell it. For an extra $50 he will put in the magnaflow exhaust.
