that kids an idiot but it also depends on what street tires, maybe not yours but definitly nittos or other drag radials and your car is more than 12 sec capable what you need to do is get to the track and show him whats up

Drag radials are street legal tires. If you can drive and your car can put close to 300rwhp you could pull it off with no problem.

What car does he have? i woundnt worry about it ur set up is like mine and with some driving mid 12's. But the only prob. i see is the gear. A little to tame for that combo. The only reason I'm going 373 is b/c i might have to drive to Vegas when i move cause i would have went 4:10!! Ur intake and cam is more aggresive then mine and i expect at the least 12.8's or so on street tires mid 12's with some slicks and driving.

Put some DOT drag radials on your car...take him to the track with you. Sit him in the stands and show him what's up!! If he's a betting man you might place a wager and make some money!!

NOS is suppose to be a lot more torque, thus harder to keep on the ground with TRUE everyday street tires which is what I have posted in my sig.

I'm mounting my Drag Radials this w/e, but I still plan to hit a 12 with my True street tires by the end of the year. I'm so close it's killing me.

My car is down waiting on it's 3rd stall. Hopefully this one makes it more than 10 ft.

Absolutely it's possible on street tires.... just takes a little more practice with the driving than stickier tires.

with your 306 combo you could see 12's on real street tires(not DR's) get a decent set of street tires and you will see it....ive seen Vipers pull 1.6 60' times on Michelin Piolit Sports...those are the tires they come with from the factory....and plenty of stock Vipers have run in the 11's on street tires. So the power can be put to the ground, its just a matter of being able to control your right foot...

That is a WHOLE lot harder to believe than you running 12's on your firestones.

ok the firestones i have are awesome, when i bought my rims (black 95 R's) i bought em off a guy who had them on his 95 Cobra R nad he was telling me he got em shipped from japan nad he was tellin me how awesome they hooked, so one day i dumped the clutch at 3500 and a little bit of spin but it hooked real good considering i was on the street, i'll show that kid, he's proly jealous cuz his 5.0 is nothing compared to mine.

it just takes more skill to make street tires work for you....you may not be able to dump it, but if you can get pretty good and slipping the clutch then they should hook pretty well...look at Killer, he is pulling 60's that are almost as good as his ET street times with his Nittos!...it just takes lots of seat time

12's are doable on street tires, but not as easy as you might think. I would stop short of saying impossible, but it won't be a cakewalk. Have to keep tirespin under control, and that is a PITA. At least you only have 3.55 gears, that'll help.
