This wait is killing me!!!

I got a delivery date of Nov. 29 from my dealer last week on my GT. I was thrilled with that. Now I stupidly decided it would be fun to see exactly where my car was at this moment in time so I decided to call the 800 Ford number that I've seen posted on the board. Well the nice lady there told me that the date had been changed to Dec. 6 - 24th I wish I had left well enough alone at least I could have gone through the weekend still thinking MONDAY YEAY!!!

Did you get the DORA from the dealer? Make sure that the dealer had actually placed your order from Ford.

What options did you order? Spoiler/IUP cars may take awhile longer....

I placed the order Sept. 29th. So it has been some time now.

I actually got the VIN from my dealer. Doesn't that mean the car is made? I ordered the GT in Redfire. Yes a spoiler and IUP. Pretty much every option except the top level stereo and the red contrast on the interior.

I ordered on 9/20... But got a call on the 15th that my car was in pick it up... When i got there it was the wrong car... dealer stated mine was shipped 1 day prior to that one and should be in anyday now... 4 days later he stated its still in transit and it could be couple of days... now its 11/26 still no call.....

Jerseygirl, I ordered the exact same car with dark charcoal int and polished alum wheels on Nov 8th was told 10 to 12 weeks PLease post pics when you can Rod

That stinks! Going there to see your new car and finding out it's the wrong one is worse than it not coming in when you expect it to! I hope you get yours SOON!

But, now its the 2nd of december and Im told that it will most likely be pushed back to after the 1st of the year and I wont see the car until early Feb. or March at the lastest. Something about one of the options I ordered wasnt going to offered until March or something. My car is fully loaded, every option except the automatic. I think its the red interior thats the holdup.

I don't think that is all true because I have seen 2 gt's with the iup and red inter. They were both delivered to the local dealer and given to there owners the next day.(about a month ago), both had manuals as well.

Thats what my salesman said. Guess he wasnt telling me the truth. Should have known.

Suggestion- make sure your salesman knows you might consider another, similar car if one comes in that is available, like on a cancellation (it happens). We bought TWO GTs that way. Only a color change on mine, and the other was exactly what my son wanted.

Salesman MIGHT just consider you as a special customer if they think you will be a loyal one. I dealt with a dealer where I bought 3 cars so far- and made sure the salesman knew it (he is new to the business). I called him about my car each week, and reminded him that I would take another if it was close, and available. He called- took the initiative, and was rewarded with TWO Mustang sales Saturday. He even got a sales spiff for the first delivery of the day!! Everybody wins!!
