I'm getting a set of Trick Flow TW heads. I'm planning on using a TF stage 1 cam, but I'm just curious to see which you guys that have them are running. Are you happy with it? How's the low end torque? How does the idle sound? ect.... Thanks.

I had a tfs 1 cam and then swapped to an fti custom. Do it right the first time and run a custom from any of the GOOD cam grinders, buddy rawls, ed curtis or jay allen. If you must run a shelf cam, I like the comp 270xe. My low end improved with my fti custom.

I would like to go FTI. Maybe I should just be a little more patient and save some more $....

Yeah it is very noticeable. Sounds best when its first started up dead cold, very hard and nice chop Keep in mind you'll need new valve springs with your TW heads, unless you buy track heat heads which have good springs already with 10* locks and retainers!

i run the stage 1 cam and i love it i would recommend a 5 speed or at least a loose 3,000 converter. it doesnt make much under 2,500 rpm but it comes on like hell at 3 grand. very mild mannered for street driving and it has a awsome idle. youll love it

Ok I guess I'll check into the springs. It's funny because that's what I was originally told, then I posted about it here a couple days ago and a couple people said that the springs are fine.

The stock TW springs are fine for most aftermarket cams. Once you get into real cams with faster ramps and higher lift is when you need them. A tfs 1 cam is more than fine for stock TW springs.
