I am installing 4.10 gears at my fathers shop.
I have the gears and the install kit.
rpmoutlet.com claims that a "MODIFIED CROSS SHAFT" is needed for 4.10 install.
Is this true?

No. You don't need the shaft until you put in 4.30's or higher. You are good to go.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about a "Cross Shaft" not a "Drive Shaft".

It's a misprint. Starkie is correct.

Let us know how your install goes. I'm thinking of doing this myself as well. A friend of mine is an ex Ford service guy and is willing to help me. But I'd like to hear how it goes for you before trying this. Thanks!
