I'm about to buy some Dynomax Bullet race mufflers and have them installed along with 2.5" piping. How much would an average exhaust shop charge for this kind of work? How much have you guys paid? Is it cheaper just to buy a cat-back kit that's already put together, like Flowmasters or something? I'll also be installing a Mac Prochamber at the same time. Hopefully the car will sound real mean.

i would just buy the kit and put it together myself. Its not really that difficult. I wouldnt pay anybody to do something that i can do myself.

I know, I've done all my engine work myself (with my dad helping). I haven't seen a full kit that includes the Dynomax bullets though, that's why I was asking. Is there just a generic 2.5" tubing kit I can buy?

I'm not so worried about loudness, but how did you mount them in your car? Did you use stock exhaust pipes or get new ones and if you got new ones, how much did it cost?

Nevermind just read your other post, so you welded them into your Flowmaster cat-back piping? I've just heard all about "drone masters" and that's not what I want. I read that the Dynomax Bullets scream at higher RPM's but are more mild for cruising on the street. I think combined with a Mac Prochamber they will still be pretty loud.

I've seen MAC tail pipes for sale in the advertisment sections of 5.0 mag. They were $134. HTS coated with the tail section chrome. Hope this helps.

I just got a pro-chamber and am thinkin about changing my mufflers let me know how the bullets sound.

If you are looking for a performance exhaust system then dont go to your local muffler shop because most of them aren't going to mandrel bend the tailpipes and they'll use a cheap pipe bender that will kink the pipes. Besides that they probably won't give you chrome tailpipes either. IMHO unless you are making a racecar that needs a custom exhaust you are better off just buying a kit.

I have turndowns on mine and I don't think I'll ever switch back to tailpipes. I too have a Pro-Chamber with Dynomax super turbo's, and I think it sounds good, but it is WAY too quiet. I'll switch over to the Ultra-flow's or Bullet race mufflers eventually....

Oh yeah, the only thing I don't like about the turndowns is they resonate at low rpm's.
