im gonna buy my self some for christmas, gonna go with the 10000k's. now about 90% of the threads ive read say that the APC projectors are garbage! but how would they actually work with the HIDs instead of the lame halogen bulbs? i figure you can get the projector housings on ebay for around 100$, how bad could they be? slap some clear sealant around the edges, and pray they dont leak! i know when you see most factory kits on BMWs and the s2000's when you look at the bulb from different angles it has different colors, looks really sweet, then when you see other factory, sealed beam headligths with HID's they look like crap, im not so sure that the cobra housings would look that good with the HIDs?

You're talking apples and oranges. True HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting systems are not simply bulbs. They are a headlight assembly utilizing an amp of sorts that create a near "white light" that is closer to daylight and is much brighter. They are on the BMWs and Mercedes, et al, because they cost a couple thousand dollars to do right.

What you're talking about is just a bulb swap that burns a bit hotter and is closer to white light than stock, but still nowhere near an actual HID system.

Currently, it seems that Sylvania is making the best upgraded bulbs for our cars. I'm running them. They're okay but nothing special. If I were to actually put some money into new lenses, they'd probably work a lot better.

Yeah HID is a system, those blue 'hid' bulbs hyper white, superblue etc all suck and they will burn your stock wiring if not they will burn out after about 5 months.

If u want bight bulbs get the Slyvania silverstar, if you want fairly bright but a bit blue-ish then get Slyvania Cool Blue.

I think I spelt Slyvania wrong

no, im buying a true high intensity discharge kit! 10,000k color temp. consist of the ballast w/built in igniters, harness, and bulbs. but its a retrofit kit, so what i was wondering is... wheather or not to put them into APC projectors or use my cobra headlight housings? like i said before i think true HIDs in the projectors would look! but i was just kinda curious if there were any other reasons why i should not buy the APC projectors?

You get what you pay for. I have a friend that put one of those kits on an audi, and the bulb burnt out after a couple months and he couldnt find a replacement bulb. He ended up buying the real audi headlight/HID kit.

I don't know that I would do true HID headlights on a 94-98 style housing. They're bright enough to oncoming traffic as it is even with the halogen bulbs. I run HID's with my Cobra, actually works pretty good with the 99+ reflector design.

Whatever you do, though, 10000K is too much. That'll be violet. I went with 4700K, very pure white, not blue. Have you seen the headlights on the_david's car (I think that's his username -- turbo 95, canary yellow). I seem to remember that he has the projector housings, and HID's.

And if you know anybody that wants some 4700K HID's, I've got an extra set

yeah, ive seen david's he's a very good friend of mine, well ive seen one of his i should say, the other one was burnt out! lol been trying to get a hold of him so i can look at his lights again before i make my decision. i want to sit inside his car and see how they look from behind the wheel. i believe his are made by phillips and are 4700k, they were bright white, slightly blue. im actually wanting the violet color, i know the more "k" the less lumens they have, but they will still be 3x as bright as halogens. and still look sweet! got any pics of yours on your cobra?
