Those with saleen replica wheels experience some vibration on the steering ??? I have 18 inches saleen replica (ZR) since i install the wheel my car shake around 45-55 mph the steering goes left and right and when i hit 60 mph it stop. I went to my tire shop, they rebalance all the wheels and no change so i take some electrical tape and put it on the hub on my 02 gt then reinstall my wheels, the vibration is gone !!!! Someone have the same problem has me ???? let me know

I use bubble gum and shoe string on the wheel hubs, and all vibration goes away, and I speed off with my tornado in one pipe and turbonator in the other.

Actually the replicas are usually made in China, and cost nothing to make. With all the BS overhead in getting them to the end user they get expensive. Poorest quality you can get. Stay with a nicer and larger OEM if possible!!

I would love to hear more about the tape fix. I have the same wheels and they vibrate at low speeds. I was thinking one or both of my wheels was out of round.

Out of balence or out of round wheels will get worse as speed increases. They will not magically get better all of a sudden.

What you describe sounds more like a junky tire problem. A cheap quality tire will make funky things happen for no apparent reason. What kind of tires do you have?

the cheap suminito tires that came with the rims - I think you are right about them being the problem. The shop that mounted the tires said the rims appeared to be constructed well, did not need to add weights.

I have 18x9 Saleen replica's and don't have any vibration

to all the replica haters have fun paying thousands of dollars for wheels and tires when you get can get a good quality product at a fraction of the cost with just a few minutes of research

Probably not a cheap test, but put some quality tires on those wheels and see what happens. I'd be suprised if the vibration remained.

EDIT: Also if you have tires mounted there is NO way all four will not need to have anyweight added to balence out to zero. I've mounted probably 50 tires on my cars over the years and never seen more than a couple wheels come up perfect balence without adding wheel weights and it's NEVER been more than 1 wheel in a group of 4.

Makes me wonder if they even balenced your wheels/tires correctly.

I thought the same thing had the two front wheels rebalanced, still vibrates, I think it is the tires

If the back tires are out of balance that will cause shaking/vibration in the steering wheel as well. It is not a front only problem.

I have replaced the rear tires with bfg dr's and same vibration, but, I notice it is worse when the tires are cold so I really think it is the cheap front tires !!!

Could also be the rotors. I say go to a quality tire shop, have them remove the tires and run the wheels alone on the balancer. See if there is a problem. I know jeffo (owner of WR) lurks, and I'm sure he would be willing to work the problem out with you. But make sure it's the wheels before you go that route.

be sure guy that is not your tire man i install the first time 4 brand new bfg kdw 285/35 rear and 265 front cost around 1300 $ then i was very shaky again and it was made with a 75000 $ balancer with remote control that eliminate the risk of scratching the lip. so 2 week ago i remove these tire and install now 4 brand new pirelli giallo that came oem on galardo and now again it shaky so i take off the wheel and reinstall the tape and now again the vibration is gone

Hello all with Wheel rep. problems. I have the 18x9 and 18x10 wheels also. You need to check and make sure the rotor keepers are off the lugs. There isnt any relief for the keeper in the wheel so they arent flat when mounted on the rotor. Atleast that was my problem.
