Those with sportlines or similar lowering springs...shocks/strut help

Ok. I am getting to the point where the ride in my car gets on my nerves. I have dealt with 2 years of riding on my sportlines and feeling/bottoming out on every dip and bump. I hate it now. The car handles amazing, but rides like crap. I have caster/camber plates. What I want to know is this, I still have the stock struts/shocks, I know they are shot. Even with replacing these with nice ones will the ride be better or will it still suck? I love the way the car handles and I love the stance, I just hate to give that away. Thanx

The ride will still suck, just because you have specific-rate springs, but new shocks and struts will help a lot. I have Bilsteins, I love 'em.

It's really good. Granted, I have the Pro-Kit instead of the Sportlines, but the ride is still amazing compared to stock shocks/struts.

It's going to be tough to get a good ride quality out of the Sportlines, since they're the most aggressive rate spring that Eibach sells. I agree with Asha'man though, if you get new shocks/bushings it will still ride better than stock IMO, and it'll corner like MUCH better than stock, even with stock control arms.

The sportlines are not a linear spring, they are a progressive rate spring. With the proper shocks, they will ride great. Dont blame the springs, blame the fact that the shocks are still stock. You cant really expect much with stock shocks. Bilsteins are a great choice, and so are Tokico Illuminas.

Would it take more than just shocks/springs to get that quality ride, or do you need control arms too? I'm not questioning, i'm curious.

Ahh, negative. Sportlines are specific-rate; the Pro-Kit is progressive.

Quoted from Maximum Motorsports:

Lol, great. We both have sources.

To the best of my knowledge, the Eibach Pro-Kit has progressive-rate springs; does not lower as far; and gives a better ride quality than Sportlines. The Eibach Sportlines are specific-rate springs; lower 2" or more (slammed); and have lousy ride quality.

the older sportlines mande in the 90's i am positive are linear. and you need to run at least tokico iluminas(sp?), I have tokico hp's on my sportlines and am currently getting bilsteins put on. I rode in friends car w/ same springs same year and the Bilsteins just felt so much more composed over unjilating(sp?) surfaces, and sharp bumps in the road, It doesnt get jiggly.( including subframes of course).
