I was getting info off my computer on the car so I could order my Xcal 2 and on the Saleen sticker it says 02/S281E/MT/3.08

I guess this means I have 3.08 gears as opposed to 3.27's??

If that is the case I should really feel the 3.73's that are going in on Wednesday...

I thought the 02's had 3.27's?

Our 2000 S281SC was "stickered" as having 3.27's.. low and behold when I threw in 3.55's last year, surprise surprise. A sloppily installed set of 3.08's came out. I was pissed and happy at the same time..

On my last Saleen I was supposed to have the 3.55 gear option. When we took out the gears to install 4.10's it only had 3.27's in the car. I called Saleen and threw a fit and they sent me a check for what the 3.55 option was on the sticker.

not surprising considering how fast they get these cars done.

Wow, seems saleen can't be trusted with a set of gears. Also sounds like they don't know how to use shims.

3.73's are a nice improvement over anything 3.27 and worse.

3.55 to 3.73 can't really be felt, but there is a minor improvement in performance.

Just got my car back home and it's getting a bath...

3:08 to 3:73 is a nice improvement, I can especially tell through 2nd & 3rd. Car is a little quicker. Gonna be a fun weekend.....

Oh man you guys.

Ever since Saleen moved from Long Beach they have been sloppy with gears. I know of three cars in particular that were supposed to have the max-grip and did not. It's easier to print another option on the window and slap a decal then actually install the gears. Saleen has been doing that SH#* for years.

Isn't the maxi grip over $1000?
Holy crap would i be pissed.

Almost worth the money to pay your mechanic to check it out.
