Just got done installing MGW's short-throw shifter on my 2004 Mustang GT w/ Tremec's 3650, and I am impressed. First of all it was packaged very well, not even UPS could hurt this baby the way they packed it. The installation instructions were very detailed, with very helpful pictures. The installation itself was very easy, the thing practically installs itself. I also purchased their in-house inner dust boot, while not necessary, it is a nice piece and does seem to perform exactly as their website indicates, reducing noise and keeping out all the dust. The shifting action is very precise, you can feel each position very well, and it is very comfortable to shift. I've had the opportunity to drive other's GTs and Cobras with the Pro 5.0 shifters, and I can easily say this is a far superior product, not as clunky and noisy as its Pro 5.0 counterpart. The price was on par with the other aftermarket shifters $197.00 for the shifter and inner boot, to my door.

I also took the liberty to change out my tranny fluid while I had the thing apart. The old fluid looked like it was ready to be changed, probably the original fill. Anyway, I opted for Mobil1 full synthetic ATF, and I also added 8oz of Prolong transmission treatment. While I've only driven it around town after installing the shifter, allowing it to warm up at least, and taking it on the highway as well, I'm not disappointed with the fluid choice. The tranny seems to respond better, less noise, and all gears shift equally as well, not hard into 2nd or 3rd. Whether the improvement is a result of new fluid or different fluid doesn't make a difference to me, all I know is it feels right.

I used to have steeda tri-x and now I got MGW. I love everything about mgw as steeda tri-x was firm but got loose very quick. I bought mgw shifter, knob and there inner boots. Love it
