I recently owned a 02 GT convertible. I sold it last week because its was starting to need quite a few repairs. It had a 130k miles but was still a looker and the engine was great. Some of the squeeks and rattle were really starting to bother me and ive heard the new body style eliminated alot of that.

I am looking to upgrade to the new body style. I was thinking about a 06-09 GT/CS convert. After looking at the 2013 stangs the 05-09 is really starting to look dated. Right now I could pick up a left over 2012 at a good price. But here is the thing. Its the same price as a 07 GT500. Anyway I wont ramble but I am looking at getting some opinions on the 05-13 Mustangs and what others would pick up nowadays. I have a 2011 F150 with the 5.0L and really like the engine. Another concern is my 02 sounded amazing with with flowmasters. How do the new ones sound?

Thanks

You are right on the pricing of GT500 vs leftover '12 GT's.

Drive both and decide what you want. I went with the new based on the clutch stiffness in the 500's. Mine and the wife's knees would not take it.

I like the mellow sound of the GT500 mufflers on the '12 GT. It is hard to compare the different year exhausts based on the muffler location differences.

I personally think Flowmasters sound like poo on the new 5.0's, and I loved them on my old '95 GT. A GT500 would be tempting, but insurance would be something to price out ahead of time. The new body blows away the SN95 chassis. My 2011 doesnt creak a bit with 15,000 on the clock so far. It feels solid, and the interior is so much nicer than the plastic crap in the SN's.
