okay so far i have gotten some great info from this forum i am almost done wiring the motor i still have nt tried to start it cause i cant find a computer near me so im gonna list what im using and maybe you can point out some things that may give me problems down the road when i get ready to start it. this is all in an off road buggy. the motor is a 2001 i have switched the injectors and most of the sensors i am using a painless 302 88-93 complete harness

I plan on using an a9l or a9p computer
i plan on using a stock 88-93 maf
I am using the throttle body off the 2001 mainfold
I am using the ,manifolds from the 2001
i am using a map/BPS off a 89 4cyl
i am using 19pnd injectors from an 88-93
i am using the ect from the 88-93
I am using the IAT from the 88-93 i plan to put it into the intake boot or where the egr is
I am not using the egr system
Iam not using the VSS
I am not using the ECR

tell me what my issue are going to be please?

Just to clarify, this is a 2001 explorer/mountaineer motor?

If so, the TB can work. There is a write-up on how to convert it

Yes it is a mountaineer explorer motor

To convert it you just switch out the TPS and the IAC right can i use the MAF from the 01?

No, you can't use the '01's MAF if you are using the A9L/A9P. You'll need a Fox 55mm MAF or a 94-95 70mm MAF with adapter

what does the adaptor do? does running a 55mm maf defeat the purpose of the explorer throttle body? any ideas on a cheap computer a9l or a9p?

Thanks

Yes, i wouldn't run the 55mm MAF.

The adapter is needed for the SN95 MAF. Read this. it will list the only large factory MAF's that will work for you and where to find the adapter

Yes, if you use a meter with one of the part numbers listed in the thread.

As for the EGR, if you run the 2001 manifold, you'll need to rear up on properly bypassing the EGR. It can sometimes cause more problems removing it than leaving it alone. However, the 2001 manifold doesn't have an internaly EGR...only the 96-97 manifolds do. You'd need to change the upper and lower to do so. Just a FYI.

Do a search on removing the EGR on here.
