hey is it even worth it to grab a bigger TB for a stock motor??
Keep in mind, i am building a motor thats going to have heads and cam etc.... So if its not exactly great with my stocker, it will work well with the new motor.... so it wont be money wasted

So will a bigger TB create slower throttle response??

Stock engine = 65 MM TB. Not much HP will be gained without a change to an improved intake manifold.

Stay away from the 70 MM and larger unless you are going to a stroker engine or Forced Induction.

70mm should be perfect for yours.

As for the original post, would a stock H/C engine benefit from a 65mm throttle body?

With AFR185s, I'd run 30s before I'd run 19s.

The bottleneck to flow on the stock engine is the lower intake manifold. If you want to get some bang for you buck right now, go ahead and buy your intake and put it on. That will make a difference in peak power. Putting the larger t/b on won't make a significant difference since the bottleneck to flow is downstream of it. And a 65mm t/b is sufficient for just about any streetable naturally aspirated 302.
