What have you guys run into with the TB mod in relation to tuning and driveability?

One customer added an aftermarket one this past week and is expieriencing driveability problems: RPMs sticking around 2500 and slowly coming down, and idle irregularities.

I contacted SCT and we're going to data log and they feel that some changes may be needed in the 'dashpot' variables in the tune but also related that this will affect other variables in the tune and that they've found it very very difficult to have a perfect tune with the aftermarket TBs.

Have you guys run into this and how good are the dyno verified gains?

Thanks!

There is no reason whatsoever to buy an aftermarket tb unless you are running high boost. Waste of money. The one that came on your car has no shortcomings.

Yeah 12hp and 10 torque to the wheels is worthless and not worth the $$$$.

im experiencing the same thing in my car.still have the stock tb though.the rpms are slow coming down, its almost as if you did not let off the gas.im wondering if it has something to do with the drive by wire,or something to do with the sct tune.like to see what comes of his problem.

No so. I have one and it is a motor dress up mod and great eye candy! The problem is that it just cost too much for what it does.
