I just got my 70mm tb. Should i put it on now with the stock intake or wiat till the cobra intake is on? Also, are you supposed to put gasket sealer on the IAC or between the tb and the upper? Thanks

Wait until the manifold goes on. Gaskets go on dry.

I hope you got a really good deal on it because, even if you already had the cobra intake, the improvement going from a 65 to a 70 is not worth the $$$ if you have to buy it new.

197 shipped for the bbk. i actually have the stock tb on now because the 65 is beat up pretty bad and i cant get the tps set right. there is a big dent on the adjustable tps piece so i had to get a new one anyways.

are you trying to say i should go with the 65 instead of the 70 or only that its not worth the money if the 65 was working fine.

Im in boca right now at work. Do you do you own work on your car or do you bring it in to a shop. Any suggestions of where i should take my car for the intake swap. Have you ever heard anything about mustang specialties in pompano?

You said it already. If you're buying to replace the stock TB, then the difference in price is neglible. But if you're stepping up from a 65 to a 70 just to have a bigger TB, then you're just wasting hard earned $$$. In this case, his 65 was broke and needed to be replaced anyway.

If you're just swapping intakes, it's only 12 more bolts... The only part that could be considered 'tricky' is sealing across the front & rear. Unhook everything that's attached to your intake now, lay it out in order. Bolt the new intake down and put all the hardware back on. Be sure to have the right size wrench or a large adjustable for the heater pipes. Unhook the battery before you start. Using a permanent marker, make match marks on the front of the distributor & block and then again on the inside of the distributor & the rotor and then DO NOT turn the engine over at all until the distributor is back in. An intake swap really isn't that difficult. Just take your time, be patient and ask all your questions. You may want to pick up a few gaskets and a can of 'the Right Stuff' ahead of time. i.e. Thermostat housing gasket, Intake gaskets (FelPro-1250 or equivalent), upper-lower gasket. Maybe a quality set of intake bolts if they're in your budget

BBK TB sucks, ford racing uses them, but still if you are going to go with a new TB no matter the size, always go with an ACCUFAB!!!

Let's see if I can remember everything:

1. They took almost 3 weeks to install the blower, intake, MAM, TB, injectors, Fuel pump, etc. This happened b/c they kept taking in side jobs and putting my car on the back burner.

2. They lost several of my old parts. They removed the dual water tubing for the heater and capped it off...they did NOT replace it with a flex hose. On top of that, they threw it away and I had to buy a new one.. The owner answered by saying " it's FL, you dont need a heater" I ended up buying Mike Oink's used...

3. Because they waited till the last minute, they had a missing part shipped from Vortech OVER NIGHT, and passed on the $70 freight charge to me :damnit:

4. THey removed my chrome STB and said it wouldnt fit...I ended up selling it cheap, only to find out the reason it didnt "fit" was because they mounted the MSD6BTM in the way...I ended up buying back another STB for more $$$, and we moved the box over 2" inches and it fit.

5. THey had wires from the MSD6BTM sticking out all over the place. Joe helped me take some stuff apart and hide a lot of them.

6. Since the 30# injectors were sitting around, they were no good. Instead of checking with me they went ahead and spent $200+ to fix and flow them. If they had checked with me, I would have told them to ditch them and put on 36's for me.. As it turned out, they didnt and they hooked up the 30s with the FMU....I sinced put on 36's and got rid of the FMU.

7. I asked them to hook up the FP and boost gauges to a "DIMMER" switch...they didnt.

8. They yanked out my WT gauge wiring.

9. The entire time, they acted like THEY were doing the favor for me.

10. Because of all the $hit above, the bill was about $700 more than the $1300 quote. There is supposed to be a law in place that if the bill exceeds 10% of the estimate, they must inform you... I shouldve put a STOP PAYMENT on the Credit card.

Keep in mind that before this, the shop put in my gears, exhaust, headers, pulleys, chrome tribars, and a few other things, and I had referred several people to them..

I wanted to do my 347 with their machine shop, but now Im looking elsewhere.

Thanks for getting me started Mike!!! (j/k)
