Throttle Body Questions (cai, gas pedal, etc.)

I need to know what is involved with installing a new throttle body. I hear I can get around 10 HP doing that. Is it an easy mod that's worth doing?

Also, I read somewhere that it takes care of the slack in the gas pedal also. Is that true?

I have a K&N FIPK. Will it work with a newer throttle body if I installed one, or would I have to get another tube with a bigger opening for it to attach? Or should I get the same MM size?

I installed a BBK throttle body on my 2000 GT a couple of weeks ago. Im very pleased. It only takes about 15 minutes and is pretty much common sense installation. There is 2 cables for the throttle. 1 is what holds up the gas pedal and puts the counter weight on it and the other is what actually opens the throttle body itself. I pulled the counterweight cable out as far as I could and then attached it to the throttle body. The gas pedal is up a little higher in the air now and feels a little better to me.

The mounting surface of an aftermarket throttle body is the same so your K&N system will work fine. I have a BBK system on my car and there wasnt any compatibility problems.

There isnt much of a power notice. 10hp over stock is probably a close # but you cant tell much difference. If you changed the upper plenum and the throttle body at the same time you would probably feel a more noticable difference! I got headers and H pipe on my car last week!! It was expensive but well worth it!!! The sound and power difference is awesome!

10rwhp?? you won't even get 10rwhp with a TB/plenum swap. If you're not going to install an aftermarket plenum with that leave it stock.

No way you'll get anywhere near 10 with just a TB swap. And as KaPPaBaLL said, don't bother if you're not swapping out the plenum as well. Even this will only get you about 4-8 RWHP, at best.
