Wanted to get advise on upgrading my throttle body. The car is still 302 with GT40 upper/lower, GT40X alum heads, E303, 76MAF, CAI, 24#injectors, and full exaust, with 125 shot. Right now I have 65mm TB, if I did some minor porting to my GT40 intake to get rid of that 69mm lip would a 70mm be better for more air and performance or would the change be minimal and really not woth it? Would an egr delete plate work as well ? I understand how it works but if you look at the egr plate the exaust gases travel pretty much around the entire plate before exiting. I'm sure this does help but get very hot even with coolant flowing through. With the plate the gases would be blocked off. I don't know What do you guys think ? Thanks !!!!

The 65 MM is good for your combo & going to a 70 MM wouldn't do much. Beware of removing the EGR without a custom chip to turn off the EGR function in the computer. The computer provides extra spark advance when it opens the EGR. A part throttle ping can result from no EGR or one that does not function properly..

There is a discussion of the egr and how to eliminate it on my site. Check the 5.0 Emissions page.

If you are going to eliminate the egr cut the flow of exhaust gas off at the head. This will keep the intake cooler. I am not sure this would provide more power/economy, but most people think it does.
