On older carbuerated cars when you rev the engine up, they will come back to an idle almost immediately, but on fuel injected cars this doesn't happen, they gradually come back to an idle. I would like to know is ther something on the market now that can accomplish this on a fuel injected engine.

Yes there is and it costs 29 cents.You can go to your freindly neighborhood hardware store and get a 1/2 inch copper pipe cap.Drill a 3/16 hole in the end and slip it into the hose that goes from the intake tube to the IAC valve.This limits how much control the IAC has over the amount of air allowed into the engine.You can start with a 1/8 inch bit and open it up to fine tune the idle speed but 3/16 worked well in my 04 in 25*weather.The idle was about 850 RPM.It even helped the cold weather shifts in the 3650.This has been in the car for two months now with no adverse effects at all.

You can change it with a tune. There is a variable in the EEC called dashpot_delay changing this variable will change the rate at which the idle falls. Some have tried modifying the IAC valve but I don't know if anyone has gotten good results without messing anything else up.

ok chopper1, im intrested in this fairly simple project, the only thing is I suck at getting directions, you have any pics of this "ITEM"..and were it goes (pic wise)
There is a 1/2 inch inside diameter hose with a rectanglular black box set in the middle.Where this hose goes into the throttle body is where you pull it loose and slip in the pipe cap.Sorry,no pics but if you go to any hardware store and ask for a 1/2 inch copper pipe cap,they will know exactly what you want.whyask said:

Not sure, look for dashpot settings. One is the dashpot_delay which tells it how long to take for the rpms to fall (stock mine was 4 seconds) another is dashpot_mph_cutoff which tells it to do it only above X mph.jrc_03_gt said:
