so it seems my throttle is stuck. not only when i start do the rpms jump up to around 2k but when I am driving I can take my feet off everything and the car will drive itself at 2k rpms. I can feel the car jerk back and forth a little when I come to a stop and the rpms start to drop but as soon as I push the clutch in then the rpms jump back up. Is this a quick fix? is the throttle cable pinched or something? someone help.

ps - every now and then it will become "unstuck" and act normal.

I would get some white lituhium grease in a spray can. You can get at any autoparts store. Move the spring located under your throttle body with your finger back and forth and cover it with the grease.

Make sure your cable is in a nice sweeping pattern with no tight bends in it.

How's your idle?

Clean or replace the IAC, check/reset TPS voltage, reset idle, and pull codes. If you have an aftermarket throttle body, it may be sticking, but chances are you're having issues with the IAC. Check out this thread for everything you ever wanted to know about a surging idle, and the solutions for it.
