I plane to have an C&L Plenum True FLow....And a 75mm Accufab TB Installed sometime in the furture...I also plan on switching out my MAC cold air instake for Mac's new Str8 SHot system that comes with the mass air housing. My questions is....does anything else need to be done after installing the T/B and Plenum? any type of adjustment to the TPS? or is it a install and go situation?

I also plan to get headerz and catted X pipe in the far future to compliment those mods. :nice:

The throttle position sensor may need to be adjusted to the correct voltage. I believe it should be 1.0v key on, ignition off, and throttle cable detached. If it comes with a new throttle position sensor, then it should already be adjusted.
 
I would not recomend adjusting anything when you put the new ones on...they are set to work property from the factory. Worse case, you may need to reset your idle if it won't idle right with your new set up. Not hard. Just disconect the bat for about 15-20 min and pump the breaks to make sure there is no resid charge, make sure all your accecories are off and start your car with out touching the gas. Let it idle for 5 min and turn everything on for 5 min (high beams, A/C on high and all the way cold, radio, etc), then shut off all the accessories for another 5 min and you should be good to go. I had to do that when I put my cold air kit on.

PS:Check out the Plenum shoot out on Modulardepot.com...you may want to go with an accufab plenum. Bit more money, but twice the torque of all the others and a couple more HP. Just my $.02.

Plus, that dam TPS is a pain to take off the stock Plenum. I would just buy a new one and forget about the old one altogether. $25 at Pep Boys. You may need to reset the base throttle. I had to and I am still messing with it.

The correct voltage is 0.9 on the TPS.

The TPS is on the TB. It is a pain due to the threadlock on the screws, but it's not that hard. I removed the OEM plenum and TB as one unit, clamped the whole unit in my workmate, and got the best fitting screwdriver I had and cranked on it, avoiding stripping it at all costs. The problem people have is stripping the screwheads. Once you start to strip them, you're screwed! :damnit:
No adjustment was necessary for me, and was advised by Accufab to not even bother with a voltmeter. There is only a tiny amount of adjustment there anyway - It's just the amount you can rotate the TPS while the screws are loose, which is microscopic. Only mess with it if you have an idle problem.
I'd also recommend the accufab plenum...it's a beautiful piece and makes great power. Both the TB and plenum are high quality and worth the extra few bucks, IMO.

The Accufab does not come with a TPS. And your method of resetting the computer seems to be overly involved, but if it works for you, so be it. Not being critical, but trying to simplify. :) I just disconnected the battery while installing the new parts and reconnected when finished. After you reconnect and turn the key on to start the car, the gauges will all peg, then drop back to zero. Had no problems at all.

Hmmm. I remember those idiots at Mac told me it was 1.0v even. Oh well.

If you strip the TPS screws like I did then use a pair of pliers to rotate the screw heads. Plenty of companies like Sears sell bits that will remove stripped screws so try that as well.
I stripped mine so i sawed them off with a hack saw :), my new tb cam with new ones so i got them as far as possible and then cut straight across the top and used a flat head screw driver that i got in realy deep so it would not strip further.

i just put my trickflow plenum and accufab 70 mm throttle body on :spot: . it looks awesome and i can hear the air sucking in now. and that damn TPS was a freakin pain in the arse. i clamped the whole plenum to my workbench and still stripped the hell outta those bolts. i ended up grinding those ******es down so i could get them with a flathead screwdriver. they came off easy after this. also i didnt mess with the TPS and my car idles fine and runs good too. i know i need a tune though with all these mods and stock computer. :nonono:
 
My car is running lean after my plenum and t/b install, I installed the C&L maf previous to the plenum and t/b install. So I need to get a dyno tune. Getting the TPS off the stock plenum was a BITCH, you might as well just leave it on the stock one and buy a new TPS for $30. Make sure you transfer all the gaskets, otherwise you will have bad idle problems.

I also had big problems trying to unscrew the TPS and almost stripped the screws too. Then I decided, since I live in California and the Accufab TB/Plenum doesn't have a CARB number (emissions BS) I just went to the auto parts department and bought a new TPS and installed it with the new TB/Plenum. That way when I have to go for a smog test it's an easy job to pull off the Accufab and replace it with the stock parts. I was told by Accufab that the TPS should read between .5V and .95 V when closed and 4.5V-5.0V when wide open. However, when I installed the new TPS I just unhooked the battery and when I started her up she was idling smoothly so I just left it alone.
