Throw out bearing

Take a look at this thread as it's a great writeup on doing a clutch from start to finish. You can ignore the clutch replacement part and focus only on the transmission removal and reinstallation parts, but you may want to remove the bellhousing to have a look around at the clutch anyway. If your throwout bearing is really that bad, it may have galled up the fingers on the pressure plate pretty bad, and it may need replacement depending on how bad the damage. If you're still running the stock aluminum bearing retainer on the transmission, you may want to look into replacing it with a steel one. Part numbers are listed in the link above as well. I've never personally run one, but I have heard about them before. I believe they have a pretty stiff pedal from what I remember people saying.
