throwout bearing

If you get under your car and remove the rectangular plate on the transmission, you can see it with a flashlight. I'll see if I can find a pic that I tried to take of mine ....

Here's the best one I could find:

Hope that helps some....

You're welcome. The TOB's on our cars are garbage. I have read so much on these forums about people having 'chirping' or 'grinding' ... Good luck with yours. I am going to let mine keep chirping until it dies ... Some people say that you can spray white lithium grease on them to get them to stop making noise but didn't work for me.

Disregard most of that if you are in the process or are planning to replace yours. :)

i heard the samething about the tob. i bought a new one so hopefully no chirping or chatter.

Hopfully, I had a new one put in and starting chirping while going down the road. I think it was they installer though.
Good luck with yours.

Back in spring when I had the motor out I replaced the TOB and pilot bearing. Started squeaking immediately after getting the engine back in.

Recently I took the motor out again and put in a new one and installed a new clutch, left the TOB alone. Doesn't squeak anymore. I'm happy :)

Hey does anyone know if it's possible to replace the pivot ball with the transmission installed? I noticed mine was a little beat up when I had it all apart but I dind't have one to install.
