Which would be a better head for a stock cammed motor with an aod,and 410 gears? Brand new Thumper heads,or slightly ported and milled gt-40 heads?Everything is new on the gt-40 heads, they have stock size valves, and 545 lift springs. What do ya think??Oh yeah,I will have a t-moss intake.

I forgot, the most important thing to me is every day drivability, and LOW end torque !!!

They'll both help. The 40's have more potential, but if you are never going to tap that potential, shop for the best price. Thumper claims better flow numbers than the stock 40's, and since his heads have smaller runners and valves that means more air velocity.

And thumpers big on air velocity !!!

I haven't had GT40's on my car but the Thumper's have larger exaust ports and have been ported correctly. The Thumper's will flow better, make more power, but if you can pick up a set of GT40's cheap, go for it if your on a tight budget. The GT40P's require different headers.

The gt-40s he is talking about have port work also. The cobra gt-40s dont require different headers. And the gt-40 Ps will work with MAC and BBK long tubes for regular heads. :D

Hard choice?? If the 40s have been "ported" then the cost is the factor!! and "how " they were ported?? cool?? The 40s have a small high velocity small exhaust port... if opened up without hitting the water jackets.. they will rock!! So, again... cost!!
Still the ported E7s will pull more power unless they were ported the same, cool??
then the cost of preparing the 40s to bolt on... heads flat?? might need surface, or a fresh valve job... blah, blah.. again COST!! Both will tear up the low end, mine my pull a little better thru the full rpm range...due to the high velocity and flow!! and the performance valve job!! I'd bet you'd like either one... again cost!!

Yo Mikee, what Kind Of Porting R We Talking About?

They have just been cleaned up from flash and milled. They do not require the intake to be resurfaced. I just had them flowed Thursday and they went 206 intake and 140 exhaust. I am not sure how extensive the heads are ported. But that is what they flow so it cannot be that much port work. They do not flow as much as the thumpers. They were also just set up with new springs, guides, freeze plugs, and all that stuff.

thumper, got a question, as for just taking the e7te's off and having the egr bumps taken out and exhaust side fully ported, and just a regular valve job. and new springs, what hp/torque / flow advantages will ihave over just stock e7te's? (intake side is not messed with)

Just the exhaust is killer on Forced air or N.O.S. ( side note...* I hate the freaking fast and furious !! dam it NOS "IS" Nitrous Oxide Systems... screw the puting in periods, for every one not to rag... he said Naws!!.... are we all together on this???...COOL!!)
On a na engine you need intake !! as the racers know, Heads are important... but it is the CAM!! That is the real wizard!! The 40s are good numbers!! they will allow 12s on the right set up!! cool??
