i was convinced that it wasn't an exhaust leak because i reinstalled the headers and the niose was still there, but now i think it may be a bad gasket on the drivers side. i just got my car dynoed and i pulled 260.5 and 299.6 with my boltons and i was curious what kind of gains i would get if i took apart the car and changed that gasket now? also is it bad for the engine to have a leak like that? thanks for the help...

It doesn't hurt anything unless the exhaust gases burnup something (electrical wire, rubber hose) where the leak is. There usually isn't much nearby that can burn up, but it can happen.
