I was servicing me car, check oil, fluids, air pressure...ect, when i noticed a ticking noise coming from the back of the intake manifold, around the adj. fuel pressure regulator. FYI the engine was on and was at idle. I didnt see anything abnormal, no codes were thrown, and it runs fine...just wondering what this was?

Yeah, that could be causing mild detonation- the computer would be expecting a certain amount of EGR gas in the combustion chamber and adjusting the timing for this amount of EGR gas. When the EGR gas doesn't show up in the combustion chamber, the timing is too high.

I'd think that this would only cause pinging at part throttle though, as the EGR is non-functional at WOT.
