Tie Rod Ends

Hello,
I installed new tie rod ends today and all went well. However when I drove the car the steering wheel is off center by about a quarter of a turn. I am going to have an alignment done this week but was thinking that I might of done something wrong. I did mark the threads with some paint so when I reinstalled the new ones I had a reference to install to. I might have been off a thread here or there but nothing major. My question is do I need to readjust these tie rods or when they do the alignment will they be able to straighten the steering wheel out then.

Just tell the shop to align your wheel..no big deal at all. You can actually correct this by going back under the car and turning the tie rods a little more in the direction required to correct the amount the wheel is off, but probably easier to let the shop do it.

alot of times the new tie rods are not the same exact length of your originals.it only takes a few threads difference to through off your steering wheel.i wouldn't try to adjust it,just take it and get it aligned.

Like suggested, just go get an alignment. Toe adjustments are easy and the most common alignment procedure. Toe in or out is needed to get clear vision on the steering wheel. We just got a new Hunter alignment system a few months ago and since it got stuck in my bay I end up doing a lot of them. I would have preffered the entire rack but we only got a stand system until we know if well be doing enough to justify spending money on the rack
