I don't know much about tig welders but I found this on e-bay: Tig Welder/Plasma Cutter it's a combination tig welder and plasma cutter which is nice because I'm wanting both. Does anyone know anything about this seller or about the welder?

You can get a smiley combo on ebay for a bit less... Now heres my opinion on the whole tig setup...
I suggest you save and spend about double on that for a TIG only machine. The least I would go with on a TIG machine would be a Miller Ecnotig or the Lincoln 185 TIG. These machines are cheap for a reason. They more that likely are not high frequency meaning you will have to scratch start your weld. This involves scratching the tungsten on the piece of work to get the arc going. This is a bad way to do it. You never want to touch the tungsten to the piece of metal while welding. The results you will get will not be very good with the machine. It says you can weld aluminum but Im going to disagree. You need a lot of amperage control to weld aluminum. I doubt you will be able to get the amperage low enough to weld aluminum unless you are welding 1/4" plate alum. For that kind of welder, you can buy a $200 tig at harbor freignt and get the same results.
Here is a good thread about cheap welders including the harbor freight one. If you have time, do a search on honda-tech for TIG welders. There are tons of them with TONS of good info on welding techniques to purchasing the right welder.

I talked to the guy and it's not really what I'm looking for. For example, it does not have a pedal to control the spark, it uses a single current level that you have to adjust on the machine and an on/off switch on the gun. I have no idea how you could put a good weld on aluminum like that. Thanks for the input.
