tightening rear control arms bolts after 8.8 install???

i installed an 8.8 in my 89 notch. how do i have the car sitting when i tighten the rear control arm bolts.....axle on jackstands?....car on jackstands, axle hanging....or car on jackstand axle partially elevated with jack..???
 
4cy to carbed 5.0....vapor line on gas tank???

i ran new fuel lines all the way with a custom pick up tube i still have a line that runs down the pass side.. i'm guessing it went to the evap canister what do i do with this line can i just leave it hangiong open

Yes!

I did it the other way while I was assembling things, I only intended to snug them up, but ended up tightening up. When I put the jackstands under the axle to loosen them and retighten them you wouldn't believe the POP that came out of them from being under load -- it makes a difference.
