I need some help trying to figure out what to do about getting new springs on my 71 Mach1. I want to get 620 coils up from(1 in lowering) and i also want to get new 5 leaf springs in the back but i do not know wether to go with mid eye or reverse eye springs. I have a new set of kyb shocks( right now i only have them installed on the front). the front sits higher right now due to the saggy 4 leafs and the worn out shocks on the back. I want the car to be atleast even all the way around but having the front sitting a tiny bit lower would be nice. I dont know what kind of difference the 5 leafs would make compared to the 4. and i also do not know how it will differ with the different eye settings. So does anyone have any suggestions on what springs to get to have the stance that I want. Thanks.

I had 620 1" drop springs in the front and 5 leaf standard eyes with a 1" lowering block in the back, and a 26" tire all around, on my Mach 1. It looked great, but would slam the hell outta the headers from time to time because it was so low, and the front spoiler took a beatin' too. I went with standard eyes because I would rather have to add a lowering block to get the right ride height instead of putting on gaudy long shackles to raise it.

Go with a rear reverse eye leaf and then cut the front coils to the height you want. Do the fronts a little at a time.

:nice: good advice. I cut mine off in increments, reinstalled, drove around for a few days, then cut some more. in TOTAL I removed 3/4 coil on each. another word of advice: get a grinder or some sort of cut-off machine; I did mine with a hacksaw :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

The picture of my mustang in the avatar is with Eibach 620s in front and 5 leaf big block mid-eye leafs in the rear.

If I am not mistaken, Eibach doesn't make vintage springs anymore.

most people love the stance of my car...

620 lb coils in the front with shelby drop. rear is 4 1/2 leaf standard eye.
