I run a 2003 GT vert with power mods only (Vortech supercharger, Steeda s/s exhaust . . . suspension mods are next). As you might imagine, at 12k miles the factory tires are played. I want to run tires that will optimize performance and handling - any suggestions??

nitto 555R's there drag radials get about 10,000-15,000 miles on them and they hook pretty good... not as good as the BFG's but they also get more miles... you can cut a 1.8 or so 60 if your good... mine are on the way.

Nittos won't help the handling. They have a soft sidewall meant for flexing, reducing lateral acceleration limits. If you want an ultra high performance tire, I suggest BFG KDWs or Michelin Pilots. The tradeoff with rubber that sticky is short life.

if you want a drag radial go with the nittos , but if you want a street tire , kuhmos are decent , I have seen some people complain of vibration with the MXs , my kuhmo ecstas are starting to give some vibrations slightly but they are wore out LOL , so thats probably why i have a problem , loved them though , as far as price cant beat em , Sumitumos get ok reviews too for the price , I had a friend give me 4 half used 275/40s im going to stick out back 2 at a time to burn them up at the track , up front i got a hook up on some off brand 245/45zr17s for 60 a piece brand new , I will post how they all stack up in a month or so
