What size timing belt is required for a 1994 Mustang 3.8L with A/C and Mac underdrive pulley's? I had one on before and it just blew to smitherines a few minutes ago. I guess it wasn't the right size.

Your car doe's not have a timeing belt, it has a timeing chain, and the belt your talking about is the Surp or drive belt.

Serpetine (spelling?) belt is what you need, and to find out what kind call Mac.

Application/Ford Belt #

820122 3.8 Mustang 01-03 K060966 Gates
820117 3.8 Mustang 99-00 K060966 Gates
826308 3.8 Mustang 90-98 K060960 Gates

Looks like a 96" belt for use with the 25% Reduction Crank and Alternator Pulley. I think - I'm still looking into this...

'01-'03, V6 Underdrive Pulley and Balancer, 25% Dampener Crank
Gates part number K060966

99-00, Some '01, V6 Underdrive Pulley and Balancer, 25% Dampener Crank
Gates part number K060966

1994-1998 V-6 Underdrive Pulleys; 25% Crank + 2 3/4" Alternator
Gates part number K060960

1994-1998 V-6 Underdrive Pulleys; 25% Crank
Gates part number K060960

Functional Part Number Gives You The Size Of The Belt
4 06 049 5

1st digit (4) represents a K section Poly V-belt.
2nd and 3rd digit gives the number of ribs.
4th, 5th, and 6th digit are the length in inches.
7th digit is tenth of an inch.

Part number 4060495 would be a K section Poly-V belt, six ribs wide, with a length of 49 and 5/10 inches.
