Hey Guys,
I'm looking to buy a complete timing chain kit for my 99 Mustang Gt 4.6 SOHC. I have a bunch of amazon gifts cards to burn up. I have found a couple kits but need to know if they will work on my motor and if they are reputable. I assume it doesn't matter on brand since the parts will still be OEM. I only need the kit that includes the sprockets, gears and chain. Plus other components. I don't need the water pump or oil pump. Purchasing the separately.

I recommend using the newer style plastic timing chain tensioner instead of the steel unit with the hard "ratchet". IMO the updated units give better over all control of the chain tension. Slight improvement in NVH.

The ratchet type unit has large adjusting units that cause the tension to go from too much to to little.

I have used two of the Cloyes timing chain kits in different Fords, and have had good luck. The Cloyes parts were well made.

I don't know anything about the ECCPP brand.

The above kit has the steel tensioner with the ratching gear. I prefer to use the plastic without the ratching gear. But it might be hard to find the Windsor set up but with the plastic tensioner.

In the end I think you will be happy with the name brand Cloyes part.
