timing chain vs gear drive

I need to replace my timing chain cover gasket and while im at it ill also replace the chain. what would be better a new chain or gear drive. Whats the pros and cons of both.

Gear drives are just noisy. I don't think there is much of a performance benefit to one over the chain drive for most street driven engines. You'd probably just be throwing money away.

a gear is not for a street car they make alot on noise. i would just install a good chain not a cheap 1

i had pete jackson whiney gears on a truck i had and it was awesome.most people dont know what the hell it is,and a couple people will ask if its boosted...??

gear drive is for the most precise of timing requirements. Pro stock, fuel cars . . . creates more parasitic loss but will never stretch.
