My timing cover has a provision for a mechanical fuel pump but it looks like for the arm going in to my eccentric theres a little punchout. There any way to get this out without having to pull the timing cover off?

With the right return regulator you can keep the stock pump. They even sell adapters to go from the factory fuel lines to AN fittings.

I kept reading where even with a regulator the fuel pressure is almost impossible to get right

one like this?
