I'm about to take out my Stang ('87) and a friend of mine will look at it (used to work at Ford dealer...he's 62.) because i think it's running a little fat right now...and while he's looking at it, he will adjust the timing.

My 302 has been rebuilt a few years back, has aluminium heads and intake, ...it's also has a e-306, if i remember correctly...

Sorry if my question sounds stupid; i'm just a driver, not a mecanic in any way...:(...what should be the timing for this kind of set-up?

With the spout connector out and @ idle I have mine set @ 12 degrees advance which seems to run pretty good on my combination with 89 octane fuel.

You may even try 14 as long as there is no knock under hard acceleration.
