Timing help ASAP...numbers

Ok, a long time ago someone helped me set my timing, I forget what we marked, but we marked a dot on the dampner as a referecne point. From what I see it looks like 10....is this how the dampner reads from left to right?

I think it would depend on how you marked it, but yes, it does go like you say. On my stock balancer it goes 20-0-20. To be totally sure I would get a timing light with the advance on it. That way you can dial it back and forth until you get where the timing it at. Then you will know for sure where that dot is.

The first 10* mark you see when you rotate the crank is 10* BTDC. Remeber that the crankshaft turns clockwise.
