timing help

i get the car timed to 14 degrees and tighten it down recheck it, still at 14 and then i put the spout connector in and it jumps the time about 10 to 12 degrees. do any of you know whats causing this.

thats normal the computer is taking over when the spout connector is reconnected.

so do i need to set the timing lower than i should and put the spout connector in and let it make up the diffrence.

set it where it's suppose to be set with the spout out, an then let the computer do what it's suppose to.

as a wise man once said, set it and forget it!. hmmm maybe that was for some countertop rotissiery, but i think it still applies. with the spout in you are supposed get show higher timing than when you set it when it is out. pooter changes it

so unplug the spout set the timing to 14degrees plug the spout back in and forget it and drive it.

I wouldn't say to forget about it. You need to listen for pinging and if any is heard, retard the timing slightly.
