Hey guys i wana change my fuel filter today on the 86 cuz the shop that was puttin the headers on said it looked like the stock original one. but i also wana change my oil and check my timing, anyone know what it should be at original, and what a good advanced time is cause i wana see where its at now and if i should advance it. also wanna change my oil out and had a question about that, should i do a royal purple change on an onlder high mileage engine? when i bought the car i was told it was rebuilt maybe 40-50k miles earlier but who knows if thats true or not alota people say that just to sell the car. Thanks in advance, i have some time and help today and wanted to see if i could get her running a little better. oh and will the fuel filter help gas miles, i seriously get about 9-10mpg in it and its only mildly modded.. just tuned it up a month ago adn its only got e303cam high flow h pipe, flowmaster catbacks, cold air intake, shorti headers, and deleted smog pump.. just trying to figure out what the deal is with that i know i could get better gas

with the spout connector out the intial timing was 10 degrees. Usally 12 degrees intial or even 14 is what people set the car up as.

it may help with the mileage. if it was plugged. The other thing to do is check the codes. Your car could be running with the choke on so to speak. That could cause the lack of economy.

not sure if this would effect gas mileage or not but u said that ur running high flow h with cats and deleted the smog pump? the smog pump runs to the cats to keep them cool so if u dont have that it could be making the car run rich/lean or just not right and that could be affecting it

not sure but maybe a suggestion
