Can someone please help me? I am getting my mustang Monday (maybe earlier!) and one of the first things I need to do is fix the timing. I am just going to go buy a timing light, and I have no idea how to use the thing. I know you connect red to the + terminal, ground it, and I know during the process you point it at the crankshaft pulley. Oh, and it strobes a light. That's about all I know. Can someone please give me a good specific writeup on how to do this? I heard something about turning the dizzy? I dunno. Any help is much appreciated.

Car is a 66 mustang, 200cid, all stock. Actually, I am putting in the electronic ignition II from Pertronix. If that alters this, let me know too. Thanks

The new timing light should come with specific directions on its use. You also need to invest in the set of Ford shop manuals or even check out some general Ford repair manuals at the library. Good luck
