A few months ago I bumped my timing up to 14 degress w/ 93 octane and I didn't see a difference. So I got to thinking and I checked to see if the timing would advance with higher RPMs - it did not. The previous owner put in a MSD box and coil. Any ideas why my timing is not advancing?

Is the SPOUT connector installed?

Faulty ECM or spout connector.

If you're checking it with the ignition-box connected, the multiple sparks might be screwing with your timing light. Bypass the box and see what gives.
