Im new to setting timing. After doing the intake swap, headers, TB, MAF and injectors i had to reset the timing because i took the distributor out. What should i set it to for now? (its going up to get dyno tuned on wed morning, so it just has to be ok for now). Also, before i go get the dyno tune, should i try setting my idle without the IAC, and adjusting my TPS voltage, or will they do that?

On the balancer there are marks that go like:
10 0 10 20 30
(looking down from the top)
If i want to set it to 10* i would use the 10 to the RIGHT of the zero right?

Set it to 10* BTDC, that is stock and works great for pretty much everybody (N/A anyways). The dyno tune guys should be able to set your idle and all that, but they might charge for it.

I just need to know which 10* to use. There is a 10* to the left and right. On the left of it, it stops at 10, on the right it goes to atlest 20.

OR the timing gun has degrees of advance on it. If i set it to 10* and set it so that im seeing 0 on the harmonic balancer would that be 10* BTDC? Like i said im new to this and have never done it before.

I think it's the one to the right of 0. It should say BTDC or something like that on it.

Don't even use the advance on the timing gun, just leave it at 0. I have that on mine and I never use it.

from the front of the car looking down at the balancer, the 10 you want is to the right of the zero. i actually crawl underneath and mark the hatch mark with masking tape, makes it real easy to see when setting it. goodluck

I would set timing at 10* (stock) and let the tuner manipulate the timing tables from that.

Good luck.
