Well this is the second time I think I set the timing. What I did was warmed the engine up, and unplugged the spout. Then I set the timing to 12* btdc. Then you put the spout back in, and the timing retards again. Do you kill the engine first? I dont know when to replace the spout.

Nope when the spout is put back in the puter takes over and adjust what it needs. That or you balancer is spun and needs to be replaced which would suck. If you want take the sput out to see if it stayed at 12*.

Oh and the spout doesn't go bad it's just a "jumper" wire, hell a paper clip can do the it's job.

Wait wait so what should I try? I don't think my balancer is bad i have little to no vibration. But when I set the timing, put the spout back in it retards.

When the spout is in the computer controls it. That's why you remove it to set the timing, after that it's in the computers hands (sort of speak).

Take the spout out and recheck the timing, if it's still at 12* where you left it your good.

When you install the SPOUT, the timing should advance, not retard. Generally people see about a 10* jump (advance) in timing from just installing the SPOUT.

Good luck bud.
