Timing

This has probably been asked before but I did a seach to no avail. Can the steeda timing adjuster work on any aftermarket pulley or just on steeda pullies? I know I am running a little rich, do you think it would be worth bumping the timing to get more HP and lean it out a little?

What do they mean by "piggyback" style pullies. I am assuming (not steeda) pullies?

Correct me if I read this part of your post wrong, but are you saying that advancing your timing will lean the engine out?

Yes that is correct. Please correct me if Im wrong. I could get a fuel regulator to help lean it out but I also thought that timing would do the same thing. I have read that when the timing is increased....better MPG, hense less fuel being dumped into the engine. Please correct if Im wrong.

Piggy back crank pulleys such as the older March pulleys and BBK pulleys do not work with the Steeda Timing Adjuster...I believe you can use it with ASP under drive pulleys though since they are a one piece crank pulley like the Steeda's are...

I dont have the March or BBK's so I hope it will work. I just hate to order something that may not work.

what pulleys do you have? If you had to bolt your stock crank pulley to the new underdrive crank pulley then you have piggy back pulleys and the timing adjuster will not work...If your new crank pulley is balanced like the stock one is and that's the only pulley you bolted back up to your crank then the T/A should work...All it basically is, is a new crank position sensor and encoder that is adjustable and that sits off the front of your crank instead of inside the front cover...

I purchased the pullies from Dynamic Racing when they were here for Fun Ford Weekend. I didn't have to put the stock pulley back on. What setting is the best for this type of engine. I was thinking 10-12. Anything higher, I may run into detonation problems.

10* is stock most people run 12-14*

In your opinion, do you think its worth it only to increase it by a few degrees. I didnt know they came stock at 10.
