OK so i want to tint my windows so i have 2 questions for yall.. 1 can someone give me a write up on how to install properly, because i really don't want to spend $100 to get my windows tinted when i'm pretty sure i can do it with parts from autozone..

and 2. what do yall think i should do.. 15% tint so i can get my car inspected and not have to worry about it.. or 5% for the looks and my windows and top are only up when its too cold, wet condictions, or parked..

I;m kinda leaning twards the 5%

it is not that easy... granted you have a convertible so its easier that the coupes.. you have to lay the tint out on the outer part of the windows and trim to fit...use a bondo spreader wraped in a paper towel and smooth out the tint. if there are runs in the tint you need to heat them with a heat gun while rubbing them out with the spreader. once its smoothed out remove the clear plastic and spray it down with soapy water. spray the other side of the window with the soapy water and install the tint. work out runs again and you can use the heat if you need to. be sure not to get the heat to close to the tint or hold it there too long you may melt it. i would not go darker than 15% because you will probably get pulled over. good luck and here is a pic of mine with 15%.

Tint is something i wouldn't attempt myself. I personally think it's easier to just pay someone to do it rather than deal with learning to do it yourself. As for the %, i would go with 15, 5 is really really dark.

LIMO! LIMO! LIMO! haha jp... i never knew but there are - %'s too. anyways, 15 would be good. I have 20 for the front and 5 for the small windows and rear. I like it. 5 is VERY DARK. 20 was pretty dark but i think it's lightened up some in the sun because lately its seeming lighter, maybe im just getting to used to it. 15 would be a good number to go with.
