I put some extra tint on a guy's sunroof in his Mazda truck like 23 years ago. Actually I installed the sunroof too, it was my first "major" no turning back mod, and I did it to a brand new truck!

He smoked, and he wanted it open to draw out the smoke, but didn't like the amount of sun coming through. He should have bought a darker one, but he was cheap (broke is more like it). I just removed the glass and put a layer of tint on it. Worked out fine for the next year he had the truck.

Side note: I was amazed at the new window tint they have now, I haven't touched it in probably 15 years. We got my son's Vibe done, and the guy just used a hairdryer to shrink the tint to fit all the curves! No more cutting the rear window in strips. Now I need to get my car redone.

Yeah i'm amazed to. I just had my G35 done and they heatshirk everything now so it's 1 peice.

I want to get my Mustang redone since i got it pretty light the first time. Just debating doing the sunroof or leaving it as is.

Have them tint the sunroof when you get your car done and if you don't like it you could always remove it. Plus a lil extra protection does wonders for the interior of your car.

PS I was pulled over a while back for my tint being too "dark" and had to remove it from my side windows (doors) and after about 1 yr i noticed quite a bit of fade on the seat covers i had on at the time.So i had the entire car redone at 35% , not as dark as i would like but it works.

I did the sunroof in my Pace Car. I just used the same as what I used on the side windows, and its not too dark.

Is your sunroof cover missing? Pacecars came with a cover with vents in it that fits over the sunroof, it was also an option for other early foxes.

I don't really think the sunroof applies to the law on tint

MA is 35%, and my tint is actually 28%. So far so good.

I actually bought a tint meter. It's pretty cool as i use it for work but i've tossed it on my car to see what it reads. I'm gonna toss it on the sunroof and see what that meters out to next time i get a chance

No I have it, plus the bag, but I still wanted it a little darker and I don't use the cover much. Either way if I want it totally blocked out I can still use it, lol.

I just got mine tinted with 5% a few days ago...Make sure to remove the hardware from the glass i.e. the latch because when they tinted mine the first time they just tried to cut around the latch in the back of the sunroof and the two mounting points in the front and it looked like crap and the corners started to peel...I ended up taking it somewhere else and took the hardware off before I gave it to them and they only charged me $30 and it looks way better.

I hate the sun roof so I always leave the cover on.
