Long story short, I've got the Ford Performance Pack 2 installed through my local Ford dealership, and it's a great product.

However, I've made some mistakes along the way, and you may want to know these things before you partner with a dealership to install.

I handed over the box for the dealer to install. I did not specify a Ford Performance online account to use, nor did they ask. As a result, the dealer installer now owns my copy of ProCal software, and I cannot download it again. Even if I could, the tune was registered to the dealer installer's personal account, so I would not be able to use it without his account login credentials.

If you have a dealer install, maybe see if they will use your login credentials or use your own laptop when flashing so that you can keep and maintain the ProCal software.

Otherwise, you won't be able to use ProCal without paying the dealer labor fees to do it for you.

And Ford Performance tech support basically told me that the dealer can copy the software for me; but the dealer showed me that he can't. According to Ford Performance, I would need to obtain the PC3 software, the PC3 tune file, the email address, the password, and the voucher code. From what I saw, the dealer is not able to export the PC3 file, and he was not willing to give me his personal account credentials, so I'm SOL and can't use my ProCal to read codes or update revolutions per mile for my smaller tire diameters.

Ouch, that sucks. I'm glad I did mine myself. I would try to call ford and explain what happened and see if they could help you out. Another option is try to find a local tuner who can write you a new tune based off of the pro cal tune. Besides, with ford only claiming 23 rwhp, and aftermarket CAI's with a tune gets you in the mid 30's there has got to be more in there. Obviously ford left a lot on the table. A big CAI like we have and tune and a 87mm throttle body we should see around 40 rwhp at least.

I have the SCT iTSX tuner from my S197. I believe it’s the same port form factor. I have free tunes for life from Bama with it, so maybe that’s an option.

I also have a 3” catback, so maybe I need the tune anyway.

I believe the free tunes for life only applies for the vehicle it was bought for, if you transfer the device to another car the free tunes are now void. Most tuners will write you a new tune for about 150 if you already have a device. You just need to supply them with the serial number of the device, and the strategy code from your car.

Well, it’s moot for Bama. They now have a CARB check and won’t allow the sale of their tunes to CA customers for non-off road vehicles.

Try to find a local tuner out there in Cali, or see what ford can do for you.
