Tire choice...

I've narrowed my tire selection down to these 2. I'm coming from Nitto 555s. 285/35/18. NOT a daily driver, I've got a 4 banger for that. I loved the KDW2s but they're not in my size. Tell me what you think. Any insight or experience will be greatly appreciated. (I.e. tread life, DR versus regular radial).

Goodyear F1 GS-D3 (approx $274 per)

OR

Nitto 555R Drag Radial (approx $263 per)

Goodears! The Nittos will suck in the rain, if you got caught in it. Plus, unless you do alot of drag racing, the tire wear isn't worth it. I think the Nittos will grip alittle better on the street versus the Goodyears (unless you heat up the Nittos). Yet, the tire wear is not worth the little better grip on the street. IMO.

Given its not a daily driver out of the Goodyears and the Nitto DRs I would go with the Nittos.

BTW BFG makes a 295/35/18 KDW II which might still fit your rim. I just bought a pair and I like them. The only reason I chose those over the Nitto DRs was because I was tired of going thru tires so quckly.

Anyone out there have a 295/35/18 tire on a 9.5 wheel?
