Tire Rub problem on 66

I have a 66 coupe with Torq Thrust II wheels, 16x7, with 225/55 zr 16 tires, and stock height GT springs and new shocks all around. I have also rolled the fender wells some what, my problem is I am still rubbing tires on the rear when I hit a bump, and on the front if I turn into a driveway fast. Does anyone have a tire size to recomend, or would some stiffer shocks, or a new swaybar help much ?

I have a 65 coupe, all stock suspension, with ttII's in 16x7 also. I had new rubber put on all around, 225/55/17 bridgestone potenzas. The rears cleared fine, no rubs whatsoever. The front was a different story. The fender lip would cut the tire if I took a turn too hard or went over a bump to hard. I should have gone with 205's on the front because I had those before on the same wheel and they never rubbed. I think that may be your problem.

Also I was planning on rolling the front lips flat, but the car isn't being driven right now so I don't know if that would fix it. It sure looked like that would do the trick though.

Mr.BobMarley... your problem sounds very familiar to me... I have 215's and wish I had gone with 205's. It doesn't rub too often, but when it does, it scare's the crap out of me.... almost always at high speeds.

The key is to stay narrow and keep the tire diameter at no more than 26".
